Wizards of the Coast has entered into an exclusive publishing agreement with Giant Skull, a studio that’s known for developing gameplay-driven, story-immersed action-adventure games.

Together, they are developing a title that’s set within the Dungeons and Dragons universe for PC and console platforms built using Unreal Engine 5.
Giant Skull’s team is composed of individuals with experience from various studios known for developing globally recognized game franchises.

Stig Asmussen, for example, previously served as game director for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at Respawn Entertainment and EA. Before that, he was the game director for God of War III and art director for God of War II at Sony Santa Monica.
The partnership further expands Wizards of the Coast’s developing game portfolio, which encompasses both new intellectual properties and titles based on established brands.
In addition to this project, several other games are currently in development across Wizards of the Coast’s North American studios:
- Archetype Entertainment (Austin, TX) is developing EXODUS, a sci-fi RPG.
- Atomic Arcade (Raleigh, NC) recently released images from its initial project, a game focused on Snake Eyes from G.I. JOE.
- Invoke (Montreal, QC) is in production on another Dungeons and Dragons action-adventure game with a focus on magic.
- Skeleton Key (Austin, TX) is working on a project that aims to combine suspense, horror, and gameplay.
“Stig and the team at Giant Skull are exactly the type of exceptionally talented creators we want to work with, and I’m so happy to be reuniting with him on this new project,” said John Hight, President of Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming at Hasbro.
“In our time working together on God of War I got to see firsthand Stig’s artistry and expertise, and he and the Giant Skull team are the perfect fit for our new game. Worldbuilding and storytelling is in our DNA, and this collaboration reflects our evolution and commitment to our Playing to Win Strategy, building a stronger presence in digital play,” he added.
