Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth will introduce a new adventure for fans, with the game going abroad to Honolulu, Hawaii — the first international setting in the series.

With dual protagonists Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu at its center, the game promises a captivating narrative mixed with dynamic RPG battles that transform the battlefield into a tactical playground. 

Boasting a myriad of new jobs and character customization options, players will have the freedom to tailor their party and set forth on an adventure like never before.

SEGA announced on September 20 at Tokyo Game Show 2023 in Japan that the game will be released on January 26, 2024. 

Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam.

You can pre-order the game on Steam at different price points. The standard edition is priced at US$50. Deluxe and ultimate editions are also available for pre-purchase at US$55 and US$66, respectively.

When you pre-order, you’ll receive a bonus that includes the Hero’s Booster pack, allowing for faster leveling up. Additionally, you’ll unlock the Linebacker and Tennis Ace jobs through the Special Job set.

What is Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth?

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a Japanese RPG game and a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, part of the larger Yakuza franchise. Developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, it’s the ninth main installment in the series and the fifteenth overall. The game offers an open-world experience set in fictionalized versions of Japanese locations like Yokohama, Tokyo, Osaka, and even a version of Honolulu, Hawaii.

The story revolves around Ichiban Kasuga, a former criminal turned salaryman, whose life takes a drastic turn when his criminal past is revealed online, resulting in the loss of his job. Learning that his long-lost mother, Akane, is in Hawaii, Ichiban travels there but is robbed and left stranded. Without resources or local contacts, he must rebuild his life while searching for Akane. 

He receives unexpected assistance from Kazuma Kiryu, another iconic character from the series, who has his reasons for being in Honolulu. Together, they navigate the city’s challenges, trying to find Akane and confront their criminal pasts in the pursuit of redemption and truth in a world of infinite wealth.

Dondoko Island

Kasuga, after saving a turtle at Aloha Beach, is invited to Dondoko Island, a once-thriving resort now suffering from illegal dumping.

The island’s troubles are attributed to the corrupt waste disposal company, the Washbucklers, who disrupt the island, invade the resort, and bother the locals.

Inspired by the islanders’ hospitality, Kasuga resolves to help revive Dondoko Island and fulfill the dream of transforming it into a five-star resort. Assisted by the island’s mascots, Gachapin and Mukku, Kasuga works to elevate the island into a premier destination.

Gather resources by demolishing trash, wood, and rocks on Dondoko Island, expanding your DIY skills as you craft various items.

From furniture to vehicles and cabaret clubs, build diverse structures to transform the island into a trendy destination. Utilize your creations to establish your dream paradise, whether it’s a cozy cafe, yakuza hideout, urban escape, or nature park.

Decorating the island increases guest satisfaction, and as its popularity grows, more guests will seek accommodation.

The lodging tour brings the island to life, with opportunities to accommodate familiar faces. Earn money based on guest approval by being creative with furnishings to meet diverse preferences.

Combat the disruptive Washbucklers to earn Dokobucks, the island’s currency, and unlock new areas.

Engage in action-packed battles to defend Dondoko Island, using a bat to dodge attacks and employing sweeping strikes to defeat multiple enemies simultaneously.

Crazy Delivery

Strapped for cash, Kasuga decides to tap into his past experience collecting empty cans on his
bicycle and accepts a food delivery job with Crazy Eats.

In Crazy Delivery, it’s important to showcase that “Crazy is captivating.” Earn money by making
delivery runs. Perform sick stunts on your route to earn better tips and boost your income.

Miss Match

Kasuga meets Machiko-san, a fortune teller and app developer in Hawaii, who introduces him to a fashionable dating app.

Initially hesitant, Kasuga becomes intrigued by the idea of enhancing his masculine appeal and decides to give the app a try.

He starts by editing his profile and choosing responses and emojis to captivate girls during conversations. Successful interactions lead to face-to-face meetings, with the hope that the girls live up to expectations.

Going on dates improves Kasuga’s personality stats, allowing him to build up his stats by dating different girls through the app.

Karaoke

Karaoke offers a lively experience where characters passionately sing while players engage in a rhythm game. It’s an entertaining activity where you can socialize with friends, enjoy drinks, and perform the latest songs at a local karaoke bar.

The game includes a diverse selection of sounds, featuring new songs for popular characters like Kasuga and Kiryu, adding to the overall appeal of the experience.
