Expected Performance 1080p, 30 fps (upscaled from 720p), at Low Graphics settings. 1080p, 60 fps (frame generation enabled), at Medium Graphics settings.

As evident, Monster Hunter Wilds’ minimum and recommended PC system requirements are slightly on the lower side, especially when compared to Capcom’s other recent open world RPG release, Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Aside from the whopping 140 GB SSD space, nothing seems too demanding until you take a glance at the expected performance at the minimum and recommended specifications.

If you meet Monster Hunter Wilds’ minimum requirements, you will be able to run the game at upscaled 1080p resolution, targeting 30 FPS at low graphics settings. A current-gen-only game targeting 30 FPS while running natively at 720p resolution seems pretty bizarre and not too reassuring in our book.

On the other hand, Monster Hunters Wilds’ recommended requirements will let you experience the game at 1080p resolution with a 60 FPS target at Medium graphics settings.

Do note that you can expect such performance only upon enabling the AI frame generation technique.

To make things worse, Monster Hunter Wilds features DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper protection, which could further hinder the game’s performance irrespective of your specifications.

That said, Monster Hunter Wilds is still a few months away from release and the extra time could allow Capcom to make further adjustments on PC and launch a more optimized version of the game when February rolls around.
