Pokemon TCG Pocket announced the addition of a new themed booster pack: the Mythical Island pack. This special pack highlights the Psychic-type Mythical Pokemon, Mew, in its EX form.
The Mythical Island set offers a diverse range of cards. Fans can look forward to collecting basic Pokemon like Dedenne, Morelull, and Snivy, as well as rarer cards like Vaporeon, Aerodactyl EX, Celebi, and the star of the show, Mew EX.
A preview shared on Pokemon’s social media channels gave fans a sneak peek into the exciting contents of the Mythical Island pack.
Mythical Island pack release date: When can you play Pokemon TCG Pocket’s themed booster pack?
The Mythical Island expansion brings over 80 new cards to the game, including five EX cards and five Trainer cards. Inspired by an island theme, the expansion features pocket monsters inhabiting various environments like forests, lakes, and plateaus.
New accessories like binders and display boards, themed around a mysterious island, are also available.
The release of Mythical Island coincides with an expert solo battle event. In this event, players face decks featuring Mew EX and Mewtwo EX, Aerodactyl EX and Marowak EX, and Blue and Pidgeot EX. By participating, you can earn rewards such as Shinedust, Pack Hourglass, Shop tickets, and more.
The Mythical Island pack release date is on December 17, 2024. Starting that day, trainers worldwide can collect new Mythical Island cards by opening booster packs or using the Wonder Pick feature.
It is important to note that the developers haven’t announced an end date for the Mythical Island pack, and it remains uncertain if it will be a permanent addition to the game as of writing.

The Mythical Island pack is the second to be released in the game, following Genetic Apex, which features Charizard, Pikachu, and Mewtwo on its covers.
Before the end of 2024, players can anticipate additional booster pack variations, as confirmed in a statement by the Pokemon TCG Pocket operations team.
The developers are also working on a trading feature, scheduled to launch in January 2025.
