The trailer already hinted that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be bigger than its previous predecessors. The size improvement also hints at an improvement in the internal hardware of the console.
Nintendo Switch 2 design offers a sleek rounder body and will be replacing its traditional side rail Joycon slots into magnetic Joycon slots. Additionally, a secondary USB-C port has been added beside the game card slot.
Nintendo confirms that Nintendo Switch 2 will support both exclusive new titles and existing Nintendo Switch games, both physical and digital. However, Nintendo has noted that some Switch games may not be fully compatible with the new system.
Nintendo also confirmed that the full technical specifications of the Switch 2 will be presented at Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025. Although the exact release date of the console isn’t confirmed yet, Nintendo Switch 2 will release later this year.
