Unlike the usual performance and quality mode, PoE 2 on console features more PC-like features like the option to enable upscale mode and tweak max refresh rate.
With so many different options to choose from, it may feel a bit overwhelming to pick the right one to get optimal performance or visuals.
Best Path of Exile 2 PS5 and Xbox Series X graphics settings
Whether you play Path of Exile 2 on PS5 or Xbox Series X, you can tweak Dynamic Resolution, select one of the three Upscale Mode, select Max Resolution, adjust Sharpness, Scene Brightness and UI Brightness, and customize Lightning and Bloom.
More advanced options include Dynamic Culling and Refresh Rate.
To get the best performance without sacrificing fidelity, you may want to go with the following PoE 2 display settings:
POE 2 DISPLAY SETTING (PERFORMANCE) | OPTIONS |
Dynamic Resolution | Enabled |
Upscale Mode | NIS |
Render Resolution | 67% – 2560 x 1440 |
Lightning | Shadows |
Refresh Rate | 120Hz (if possible) |
Dynamic Culling | Disabled |
If you prefer performance over visual quality, this is the ideal PoE 2 graphics setting for you. By setting the Render Resolution at 67% – 2560 x 1440 and Lightning to Shadows, you can easily get 100-110 FPS (granted, your TV supports 120Hz refresh rate.)
Setting the render resolution to 2K won’t affect the picture quality too much, but the FPS you gain will significantly improve the gameplay experience, especially during boss battles.
To get the best fidelity without sacrificing performance, you may want to go with the following PoE 2 display settings:
POE 2 DISPLAY SETTING (FIDELITY) | OPTIONS |
Dynamic Resolution | Enabled |
Upscale Mode | NIS |
Render Resolution | No Upscale – 3840 x 2160 |
Lightning | Shadow + Global Illumination |
Refresh Rate | 120Hz |
Dynamic Culling | Disabled |
This is probably the best setting to play PoE 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, where both performance and fidelity are firing all cylinders. Selecting the no upscale 4K render resolution will ensure the image quality remains top-notch.
On the other hand, Global Illumination will enhance lightning, thus producing more vibrant visuals.
If your TV supports 120 Hz refresh rate, at this setting, the game should have no problem running at 75-80 FPS.
