The final Episode of Destiny 2’s Year 7, Episode Heresy, looks to tie up the remaining threads of the Light and Darkness Saga that began in 2014.
Unlike Revenant’s Scorn-themed storyline, Heresy focuses on Hive Pantheons, presumably marking the return of Xivu Arath as she builds an Eldritch army.
In addition to new story quests, Heresy will add a new exotic weapon, bone-themed legendary weapons and armor sets, in-game activity, free and premium season pass, and more to keep you engaged until the Apollo expansion.
Hence, despite witnessing a record-breaking low concurrent player count on Steam, there’s still plenty to look forward to in Episode Heresy. Continue reading to learn when you can get your hands on this upcoming Hive-themed Destiny 2 Episode.
When is the Destiny 2 Heresy release date?
Destiny 2 Episode Heresy will be released on February 4, 2025.
Like previous Destiny 2 Episodes, Heresy’s story will be delivered through three Acts, with Heresy Act 1 launching on the aforementioned date at the weekly reset time.
What to expect from Destiny 2 Episode Heresy?
Aside from the things listed above, Episode Heresy will add a new dungeon named Sundered Doctrine. It will have a contest mode, similar to Episode Revenant’s dungeon, Vesper’s Host.
While Revenant focused on empowering the Stasis subclass, Heresy will put the spotlight on Arc with the addition of a new buff called Bolt Charge.
Heresy will also add new Aspects, namely, On the Prowl Void Aspect for Hunters, Storm’s Keep Arc Aspect for Titans, and Ionic Sentry Arc Aspect for Warlocks.
Aside from all the new additions, you can expect balance changes for Arc abilities and plenty of general quality-of-life improvements.
