For every Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) Pocket player, opening a booster pack or pulling a favorite character brings a rush of excitement.
In this ONE Esports guide, we break down how the drop rates work and answer the big question: Is there a Pokemon TCG Pocket pity system?
There’s something uniquely thrilling about the moment before each reveal, the anticipation of landing rare cards, powerful characters, or game-changing items that could elevate a deck or a powerful lineup.
Pokemon TCG Pocket pity system explained
To get straight to the point, despite having a gacha system for each booster pack, Pokemon TCG Pocket currently doesn’t feature a pity system to increase the odds of pulling rare cards.
However, Pokemon TCG Pocket includes Pack Points, which players can earn by opening booster packs and then exchange for specific cards. Each booster pack grants five Pack Points, making it a reliable way to earn your desired cards over time.
In Pokemon TCG Pocket, pulling a booster pack with rare cards is entirely reliant on Random Number Generator (RNG) and luck, as there is no pity system in place to gradually improve drop rates. Each pull is a roll of the dice, making every rare card a matter of chance.

Each Regular pack contains five cards with varied probabilities for each card slot. The first three cards are guaranteed to be One Diamond cards, which are the most common. The fourth and fifth cards have better odds for higher rarities, but rare cards are still difficult to obtain.
If you’re lucky enough to pull a Rare pack, the odds for higher-rarity cards improve. In a Rare pack, both Crown and Three Star cards have a 5% chance of appearing, which is a noticeable increase compared to the Regular packs.
Overall, the gacha system in Pokemon TCG Pocket leans toward Regular packs with low probabilities for rare cards, creating a challenging experience for completing a deck.
