Star Wars Outlaws is the first ever open-world game in the Star Wars franchise, but does it offer a co-op mode?
The game features a massive open world to explore, and many fans are wondering whether they can enjoy the journey with friends or if they will have to do everything alone.
So, is Star Wars Outlaws multiplayer? We’ll answer this question in detail in this ONE Esports guide.
Is Star Wars Outlaws multiplayer?
Unfortunately, Star Wars Outlaws will not offer multiplayer or a co-op mode. The product page on the PlayStation Store lists the game as ‘1 player,’ indicating that you won’t be able to dive into it with your friends.
This also confirms that Star Wars Outlaws will lack PvP modes, where you could engage in combat with other players.
During an interview with Eurogamer, the game’s director, Mathias Karlson, claimed that their main focus is on delivering a single-player experience, and he shared no plans for a multiplayer mode.
The reason why many players were expecting Star Wars Outlaws to offer a co-op mode was because of the game’s focus on Kay Vess and her droid partner, ND-5.
Since the game seemingly featured two protagonists, players thought Ubisoft might include a co-op mode that would allow two players to control them.
However, it seems like this is not the case at all, as you will have to dive into the game solo and handle everything on your own.
Will there be a co-op mode in Star Wars Outlaws in the future?
At the moment, Ubisoft has not shared any plans regarding a co-op mode in Star Wars Outlaws. They could introduce something through a future DLC or update, but nothing has been confirmed so far.
The game offers a massive open world filled with different locations to explore, so it will be fun to play with a group of friends.
