Rainbow Six Siege is set to end its year nine with a bang with Operation Collision Point. As promised by Ubisoft before, an existing operator will get a full rework. The operator in question turns out to be Blackbeard, as he has remained underpowered for a long time.
Blackbeard will get a full-sized shield that can retract to allow the use of his primary weapon. With this update, PC-console crossplay will become a reality and fans are up for it.
Various other changes are arriving to R6 Siege with Operation Collision Point that are worth checking out.
When is the R6 Siege Operation Collision Point release date?
R6 Siege players can get their hands on Operation Collision Point on December 3, 2024. To try the update early on the R6S Public Test Server on November 18, 2024. When the update gets pushed, the servers will be down for a select time.
Like every other update, Operation Collision Point will bring new things to the live-service shooter. Here are all the changes arriving with the upcoming update:
- Reworked Operator (Blackbeard): Blackbeard will receive a new primary gadget kit that resembles his old utility with a full-sized shield.
- Ability Adjustment (Sens): Sens can now activate or deactivate their garget on command.
- Ability Adjustment (Ying): Ying’s gadget activation has been delayed a bit.
- Ability Adjustment (Thunderbird): Thunderbird’s gadget can fully heal an unharmed character to full health.
- PC-Console Crossplay: After a long wait, PC and Console players can matchmake together if their lobby has either of both platform players – while avoiding skill disparity.
- Ranked 2.5: The new ranked update will make skill-based matchmaking better by considering a sixth player to compare and balance out teams.
- Shield Nerf: Shields no longer down an enemy after meleeing them. Instead, they get pushed back. Additionally, meleeing shields simultaneously will increase the knockback effect.
- Badge System: Players can now get badges to show off their achievements in Rainbow Six Siege.
These are everything that has been added to R6 Siege with Operation Collision Points. It might be possible, some of the changes can get tweaked after release to balance things out. However, those changes are slim on the day of release.
