In what could be called a surprising turn of events, Rockstar Games have announced that 2010’s Red Dead Redemption 1 will be coming to PC later this year.
The upcoming remastered version of the game will feature a heap of PC-specific features, such as native 4K resolution, ultrawide, and super ultrawide monitor support, among other things.
In addition, it will include the original’s critically acclaimed Undead Nightmare DLC. But when exactly will PC players be able to get their hands on RDR 1?
When is the Red Dead Redemption PC release date?
Red Dead Redemption 1 will be released on PC on October 29, 2024. It will be available on Rockstar Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
What is the Red Dead Redemption PC price?
As of this writing, the studio have not announced the price of RDR 1 on PC. That said, the game’s PS4 and Switch versions recently launched at $49.99, so the PC version could also cost the same.
What to expect from Red Dead Redemption on PC?
In addition to the above-mentioned features, RDR 1 PC version will have full keyboard and mouse functionality and support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7, AMD FSR 3.0, and NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation technologies. There will also be options to adjust the draw distance and shadow quality.
RDR 1 PC version is currently in development at Rockstar Games, in collaboration with UK & Malaysia-based studio Double Eleven.
For those unaware, Red Dead Redemption 1 is a prequel to RDR 2 and focuses on former outlaw John Marston who goes on a mission to capture or kill his former gang member Bill Williamson on behalf of the Bureau of Investigation agents Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham.
RDR 1 takes place 12 years after the events of RDR 2, in a dying, dilapidated Wild West, as the age of outlaws succumbs to the age of invention and technology.
