The Witchcraft Powers are the highlight of Diablo 4 Season of Witchcraft. Like the Vampiric Powers of Season of Blood, these abilities add more ways to play and customize your character builds.

While most Witchcraft Powers can be learned and upgraded by spending Restless Rot, a new seasonal currency in Season of Witchcraft, others are more elusive and can take a while to find.

These are Lost Witchcraft Powers, which you can learn by finding Forgotten Altars throughout the Sanctuary.

Where to find Forgotten Altars

Forgotten Altars spawn randomly in dungeons. These could be anything from high-tier Nightmare Dungeons or the new Roothold Dungeons in Season of Witchcraft.

You can also encounter them in The Pit, the time-constraint endgame dungeon, which can unlock different levels of Torment difficulty.

How to unlock Witchcraft Powers

Speaking of which, Forgotten Altars have a 1%, 2%, 3%, and 5% chance of appearing in dungeons at Torment 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively.

Naturally, this has sparked plenty of debate among players on Reddit, and we hope Blizzard addresses this situation sooner rather than later.

You can also spot Forgotten Altars on your map, as pointed out by Reddit user KirbStyle.

In the meantime, you could seek Draught of Whispers Elixir, which doubles the chance of encountering a Forgotten Altar in dungeons, though their spawn rate would still remain quite low.
