Marvel Rivals is topping the hero shooter genre by bringing popular characters from the Marvel comic universe. Even though it is a hero shooter, the game does have many antagonists as playable characters too.
While that is the case, the number of villains is relatively small when compared to the hero population. Of course, some villains are extremely powerful and difficult to be defeated alone, but what is a hero without its nemesis?
Marvel Rivals villains we’d like to see
With this list, we present you with the top ten Marvel Rivals villains picks that should be added to mess up the multiverse.
Best villains that will fit well in Marvel Rivals
Taskmaster
Some heroes are known for exceptional skills, but what if a person is able to do the same by observing them for a brief moment? Taskmaster is a worthy foe to face against due to his ability to learn any skill and fighting style, within moments.
Thanks to his photographic memory, the villain is always looking to find a meritorious foe. Alas, everyone is a victim of their habit, which Taskmaster abuses against his opponents.
Just like Loki could become any character in the game, and use their abilities, Taskmaster can do something similar, maybe by mirroring the actions and powers against them.
The only counter to him would be Moon Knight and Deadpool, as their mindsets are unpredictable. That should make for a great easter egg in Marvel Rivals too.
Mystique
Mystique stays in the grey zone as she neither can be called a hero nor a villain. However, due to her pattern of working with villains mostly, it would be safe to consider as a villain too.
Mystique would make for an interesting character as she can disguise herself as one. In Marvel Rivals, that ability can work like Call of Duty Black Ops’ Sleeper Agent ability. This could enable the character to show up as a friendly teammate, to stab them in the back.
Apart from all that, Mystique is also agile, has fast healing, and has great awareness. This could allow her to dodge almost all kinds of attacks and also heal quickly to get back into battle.
Since the character is an assassin by profession, it is best to give her a sniper to take down her targets. Even if that is not provided, her punches do pack a lot as her normal body can lift seven tons of weight.
Ultron
There have been numerous leaks suggesting the arrival of Ultron into Marvel Rivals, because why not? The sentient being has proven to be a worthy nemesis on multiple occasions.
Ultron is quite a powerful villain as he can control the powers of all infinity stones. Knowing his extent, it is best to keep it a bit nerfed in Marvel Rivals.
In terms of gameplay, Ultron can function similarly to Iron Man in the game. While being able to fly around, Ultron can summon his robot goons to show the dominance of artificial intelligence.
Ultron can also hack into computers and disrupt them. Maybe he could use such an ability to stun his opponents and make things harder for them. Additionally, he can also manipulate gravity, which can be used in unique ways.
Kraven
A hunter always needs prey, Marvel Rivals is full of them. Kraven The Hunter made his debut in Spider-Man comics and quickly became a fan favorite within no time.
What makes Kraven special, isn’t any special ability. Rather it is his sheer will to look for a strong foe to defeat. Thus, mastering ways to stay ahead of all and assert his dominance in the wild world.
In Marvel Rivals, Kraven can be introduced close-combat-based character, who can throw spears for ranged battles. A hunter masters his art of tracking, which could be an interesting ability.
Furthermore, Kraven is a great leader, which can be transformed into an ability. Conceivably, he can boost team morale to increase everyone’s damage output, making him a force to be reckoned with.
Juggernaut
Marvel Rivals already has a great set of Tank-class characters like Hulk, Thor, and more. However, the list surely can use one more character and Juggernaut will fit in just fine.
Debuting in the X-Men comics, the crimson brute has left its mark as one of the strongest antagonists. His invulnerability against almost everything makes him a proper Tank character.
Juggernaut’s ability to absorb energy and redirect it back would be a great concept for a Marvel Rivals playable character. Moreover, he can be put toe-to-toe against Hulk as well, making him a good counter.
The crimson tank can also stun his opponents by just pushing them around. In the game, that can put some opponents off guard and leave them vulnerable.
Doctor Octopus
Genius minds don’t always end up thinking about making the world a better place, Doc Ock aka Otto Octavius, is a perfect example here. The eight-limbed villain is famous in every Spider-Man story, and the same should be repeated in Marvel Rivals.
With his four mechanical arms, the character can open new horizons for traversal and combat.
Doctor Octopus can be the type of character who can hold down his targets and leave them vulnerable. Alternatively, he can also use his mechanical arms to simultaneously damage them.
Doc Ock even has the ability to create powerful wind blows going up to 50 miles per hour. This could act as an ability to clear areas by damaging anyone in range.
Doctor Doom
Doctor Doom has already been showcased in Marvel Rivals as a non-playable character. But, what if he was a playable character in the game? It may come true as the Fantastic Four made a debut.
Victor Von Doom is a master of all, whether martial arts, mystical arts, or technology. It would interesting to see him as a culmination of Iron Man and Doctor Strange.
Doctor Doom can either be a Strategist or a Duelist, as he can fulfill both. With a contingency plan for all, the villain can be a fearsome foe in the hero shooter.
In comics, Doctor Doom is quite invincible, and replicating him the same would be an issue when it comes to gameplay balances. Though, with some adjustments, that can be taken care of.
Vulture
Vulture doesn’t get much praise as a villain in Spider-Man comics. However, he would be a fun playable villain in Marvel Rivals.
Vulture can be an agile flight-based character who can damage opponents at range. In terms of melee combat, his wings can also act as blades too.
The wings can also act as a form of shield which can absorb damage. Since Vulture is a credible electrical engineer, he can also use some kind of gadget to detect opponents through walls.
There are also universes, where Vulture also has superhuman strength. Maybe that variant could fit into Marvel Rivals’ crazy universe.
Thanos
Thanos, the mad titan, is known to almost every Marvel fan for the kinds of mess he made around the multiverse. Why should the Marvel Rivals universe be left out?
The holder of infinity stones is one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe. Even without the stones, Thanos is a great warrior and leader who knows how to hold his ground.
Thanos can be added in as a tank character as well for his sheer strength. Alongside, he is well versed in arcane knowledge, which could let him avoid all kinds of harm.
Additionally, he is also known to have an impressive healing factor, which can make him a problem. However, he’d make a great playable villain in Marvel Rivals nonetheless.
