A new Destiny 2 saga is set to begin with the Apollo expansion, which features a non-linear character-driven adventure.
Apollo will likely make a few fundamental changes to the core Destiny 2 experience, and players can expect plenty of new gameplay mechanics to be added to the game.
Naturally, this also means some old, much-requested features may finally return to Destiny 2 in the coming months.
One such community-wide requested feature is the shooting range, and there have been rumors swirling around that suggest it may be coming back.
Is a Destiny 2 shooting range finally returning?
Yes, it seems Bungie is planning to add the shooting range in Destiny 2. This information comes from the notable Destiny 2 leaker, Liz, who took to Discord to reveal some juicy details about some of the upcoming features and activities in Destiny 2.
According to Liz, Banshee will set up a shooting range in Destiny 2. However, as of this writing, it isn’t clear where its location will be.
Interestingly enough, Liz also claimed that Arms Day would be added to Destiny 2 at some point.
For those unaware, Arms Day was a weekly activity by Banshee-44 in the original Destiny, in which you field-tested different weapons every week to gain vendor reputation.
If the shooting range is indeed coming back to Destiny 2, it makes sense to bring a complementary activity like the Arms Day to add more value to it.
As of this writing, Bungie has not confirmed nor hinted at the possibility of the shooting range or Arms Day coming to Destiny 2, so it’s best to take this information with a grain of salt.
Also, as Liz pointed out, these are months away and could get scrapped.
Thankfully, with Apollo’s release on the horizon, Bungie will hopefully reveal more details about Destiny 2 year 8 sooner rather than later.
