Fans of Japanese RPG games can’t deny that Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance gameplay takes the top spot in the genre.
This game is an expanded version of Shin Megami Tensei V, featuring new storylines, characters, and places to explore.
While the core elements that made the original game great remain, ATLUS has introduced new gameplay features that enhance this expanded version for both beginners and longtime fans of the series.
Here’s a rundown of all the Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance gameplay additions you need to know.
Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance gameplay in Da’at Shinjuku
Da’at Shinjuku is a new region in the Canon of Vengeance path. Each area in Da’at presents unique challenges with varying sizes, demons, and obstacles.
Amidst the dangers, treasures await at every corner. Here are some features, including exciting new additions, to aid you on your journey.
Magatsuhi Crystals
Gathering crystals scattered throughout Da’at grants special benefits. Green Magatsuhi crystals replenish your HP, Yellow Magatsuhi crystals restore your MP, and Red Magatsuhi crystals boost your Magatsuhi gauge.
Magatsu Rails
During your journey, you’ll come across paths crafted from Magatsuhi, linking two areas of Da’at.
Activating these paths opens shortcuts around the map.
Abscesses
If you come across a towering red landmark emerging from the ground of Da’at, you’ve stumbled upon an abscess: a territory teeming with demons ready to attack any nearby intruders.
Destroying an abscess grants various rewards.
Magatsuhi Demons
Occasionally, you’ll face formidable adversaries wielding powerful skills and surrounded by an aura of Magatsuhi.
Emerging victorious in battle against them will yield items.
Relics
Relics can be discovered through the vending machines scattered across Da’at.
Return them to Gustave and exchange them for some additional Macca.
Treasure Chests and Amalgams
Yellow treasure chests provide items and Macca, while silver Amalgams give Glory.
Demon Navigator
A demonic ally can assist you as you explore every corner of Da’at.
Although they cannot join you in battle, they’ll alert you when they discover items and Magatsu Rails.
Aogami Husks
Examining Aogami Husks in Da’at allows you to acquire Aogami Essences, granting you new abilities in battle.
You can retrieve Essences from previously examined husks after a certain period of time has elapsed.
Demon Haunts
Using leyline founts grants access to demon haunts, where Nahobino can interact with demonic allies, offering gifts and unlocking special conversations through game progression.
Explore demon haunts to unlock unique conversations and receive rewards!
Cadaver’s Hollow
To buy items or sell relics, visit Gustave at Cadaver’s Hollow. Find a Leyline fount and head down.
Help Gustave by locating his pawns, the Miman, scattered across Da’at, and earn rewards, including Glory to learn new Miracles!
The game releases on June 14, 2024 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows, and Steam.
