If you think spectating after getting eliminated in an FPS game is boring, then this new shooter game Spectre Divide is for you.

Spectre Divide is the brand new FPS game in the market that everyone is raving about. It has Michael “shroud” Grzesiek’s stamp of approval, who worked on the game as lead gameplay advisor.

Unsurprisingly, the new title looks like a cel-shaded version of shroud’s most-played game, Counter-Strike, but with a mechanical twist you may have never seen before.

In Spectre Divide, players get two shots at beating their enemies by handling two player models at once.

Spectre Divide is a 3v3 FPS game with a bomb defusal objective, but it can also be called a 6v6 game. In this game, each player can control two bodies at once. To switch between bodies, players have a puck that they can throw to a desired spot, and their second body will appear there.

It’s a bit complicated because when you’re not controlling your clone, it’s completely vulnerable to enemy attacks.

Thankfully, there’s an alarm that notifies you of nearby danger, but spawning back into a comprised body is not recommended if your first body isn’t in a safe spot.

Is Spectre Divide a hero shooter?

Spectre Divide is not a hero shooter, but it doesn’t have random abilities either. Players get pre-selected kits that are called sponsors.

According to the game lore, the new game is a sport in a city called Breakwater. Established tech companies have taken interest by sponsoring abilities named after their brands.

Currently, there are eight sets that players can pick for their player model. The trailer shows invisibility, X-ray vision, smokes, and other Overwatch and Valorant-style abilities that would be provided via the sponsor toolkits.

Weapons, however, are separate from abilities and are distributed in sets for both the clone and the main player. Spectre Divide doesn’t yet have a release date, but players should expect an open beta soon.
