Hi-Rez Studios has announced that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the Smite 2 alpha test.

This highly anticipated sequel to the 2014 multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game offers players the chance to play mythological deities in epic battles against one another.

One of the distinguishing features of Smite 2 is its departure from the traditional top-down perspective of most MOBAs; instead, players engage in third-person gameplay, offering a fresh and immersive experience.

Here’s a comprehensive overview of what you need to know about the Smite 2 alpha test, and how you can become one of the pioneering players to experience the game before its official release.

How to participate in the Smite 2 alpha testing

The game opens its doors for alpha testing sometime in May.

The best way to become an alpha tester is to buy any of the Smite 2 Founder’s Edition. There are three types of Founder’s Edition, with all three having the guarantee to join the alpha weekend events in May.

The Smite 2 Founder’s Edition is available on April 15, 2024, on PC, Xbox X and S, and PlayStation 5.

Access to the alpha weekend events is occasionally available in social media giveaways or distributed to chosen players who registered for the Smite 2 test on the game’s official website.

However, buying the Founder’s Edition is the only guaranteed way to become an alpha tester.

Do note that Xbox players must also maintain an active Xbox Live Gold/Game Pass Core subscription to join the alpha test, regardless of whether they gained access through a Founder’s Edition purchase or a key giveaway.

Alpha weekend testing starts on May 2, 2024, and takes place every month until the game transitions to closed beta later this summer. Invites will be sent out regularly throughout the testing phases.
