The MSC 2025 x EWC returns for its second year, featuring a record-breaking 16 participating regions.

The Mid Season Cup 2024 was held for the first time in conjunction with Esports World Cup last year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

This year’s MSC 2025 adds two more regions to its Wild Card entries — Japan and Vietnam — which significantly broadens the competition’s global footprint.

Japan’s reappearance on the global Mobile Legends esports scene via the EWC x MSC 2025 Wild Card marks their first international competition since the M2 World Championship in 2020.

Simultaneously, Vietnam is poised for their inaugural Wild Card entry, a significant milestone since this qualification pathway was established in international MLBB tournaments the previous year.

This Wild Card inclusion injects eight more teams into the contest for a coveted spot in the EWC x MSC 2025 Main Stage, increasing region diversity.

According to Esports Charts, the EWC x MSC 2024 Wild Card hit 373,543 Peak Concurrent Viewers (PCV), the highest for any international MLBB tournament.

A total of 16 international teams, with the Wild Card champion among them, will clash at the MSC 2025 x EWC Main Stage to contend for the ultimate prize.

The inclusion of new Wild Card regions solidifies this edition as the most globally inclusive and competitively varied in the tournament’s history. This drive for worldwide engagement was initiated in 2024 when the MSC underwent a rebranding (previously known as the MLBB Southeast Asia Cup).

“The addition of new regions in MSC 2025 x EWC highlights our commitment to fostering an inclusive MLBB esports ecosystem. By enhancing the tournament’s global reach, we are providing a platform for esports talent from around the world to compete at the highest level,” said Mike Chu, Head of Regional Esports at Moonton Games.

“This expansion not only increases the competitive level on display, it also celebrates the diverse passion that drives the MLBB esports community. We’re excited to team up with the EWC for its second edition—to showcase how two esports giants celebrate spirted competition together,” he added.

At MSC 2024 x EWC, the Selangor Red Giants made history by securing Malaysia’s inaugural MLBB world championship title, claiming the largest portion of the USD$3M prize pool.

According to Esports Charts, MLBB was 2024’s most-watched mobile esports title, with over 475 million watched hours across all international, local, and official third-party tournaments.
