The latest update for Death Note Killer Within, version 1.4.4, introduces new content and features to the game, with new role “Kira’s Spokesperson” as its highlight.
This update expands the strategic options for Team Kira by adding a new role with distinct abilities. Additionally, new customization DLCs are now available, offering players further aesthetic choices.
New customization options include the Light Yagami (Shirt) avatar, the God of the New World (accessory/back), and special animations, with the idle animation changing when using the Light Yagami (Shirt) avatar.
New role alert: Kira’s Spokesperson
The update introduces the Kira’s Spokesperson as a new role, which can optionally replace a Kira Follower.
This role’s unique ability allows the player to secretly place a “Kira’s Kingdom Card” on a nearby Investigator. By default, a maximum of two cards can be placed per in-game day, though this limit is adjustable via room settings.
When an Investigator is arrested while possessing a “Kira’s Kingdom Card,” they will be designated as a collaborator and removed from further investigation. Should the arrested Investigator be L, Team Kira will achieve victory.
While the Kira’s Spokesperson role offers strategic advantages, it also carries a specific drawback: if arrested, the Kira’s Spokesperson will always be detained. This occurs regardless of whether they possess identification, as their inherent possession of “Kira’s Kingdom Cards” marks them.
In such a scenario, other Investigators will not be able to differentiate between a Kira’s Spokesperson and an Investigator who simply holds a “Kira’s Kingdom Card.”
Similar to a Kira Follower, the Kira’s Spokesperson has the ability to acquire IDs. However, they lack the ability to monitor the movements of other Investigators, as they do not possess Rem.
The introduction of the Kira’s Spokesperson role aims to enhance the strategic depth of the game, potentially leading to increased player hesitation regarding arrests and fostering uncertainty about an Investigator’s true role or the presence of a “Kira’s Kingdom Card.”
