In Helldivers 2, Devastators are one of the many deadly enemies you can come across.
If you’re looking for Devastators to complete the Personal Order objective or another reason, you’re in the right place. In this guide, we explain where you can find Devastators in Helldivers 2, including details on how to slay them.
What are Devastators in Helldivers 2?
Unlike the Charger and Bile Spewers, Devastators are automatons in the veins of Terminators with spooky red eyes and impenetrable armor.
Before we get into the details of how to find a Devastator, you may first want to know what a Devastator actually is. Simply put, they are a type of Automaton that looks like a transformer with blazing red eyes and a mini-gun as one hand and a fist as another.
Devastators are heavily armored and tall automatons that move rather slowly, and you should have no problem spotting them from a distance. Orbital strikes and other explosive weapons are useless against it, but we will get to that in a moment.
Where to find Devastators in Helldivers 2
You can find Devastators in the Automaton region of the Helldivers 2 map. They can appear in any of the red planets on all difficulties. You may especially want to keep an eye out for Defend missions, as they seem to spawn in abundance in those.
Occasionally, you may spot a yellow skull icon on the map. These are optional objectives where you’re bound to find a Devastator.
How to kill Devastators in Helldivers 2
Continuing on from where we left earlier, explosive weapons are pretty much useless against Devastators as their entire body is made of heavy armor. You could use weapons that boast medium to high armor penetration, such as the RS-422 Railgun and Jar-5 Dominator, but we don’t recommend doing so.
Instead, you may want to target the Devastator’s head, as it’s the only part of its body that doesn’t have armor. In other words, a Devastator’s head is its weak point. As such, you may want to use the Anti-Material Rifle or the R-63CSE Diligence Counter Sniper Marksman Rifle to swiftly target its head and kill it easily.
Thanks to its bulky body, the Devastator’s mobility is terrible, which should give you ample amount of time to precisely target its head from a distance with a long-range weapon. Even regular Assault Rifles and SMGs can get the job done, granted you’re shooting the Devastator’s head.
