The Dread is a new enemy Witness faction you will come across while exploring the pale heart in The Final Shape. This enemy comes in various shapes and sizes, and we’re here to cover them all.
Dread Destiny 2 enemy faction explained
The Dread serves the Witness, and they will stop at nothing to prevent the guardians from hampering his plans to destroy the world.
In Destiny 2 Lightfall, Bungie introduced the Tormentors, these towering knights that deal tremendous damage.
Tormentors are part of the Destiny 2 Dread faction, and in The Final Shape, there will be a whole army of various kinds of Dreads.
Aside from Tormentors, the Dread consists of five more enemy types. They are the Subjugator, the Grim, the Husk, the Attendant, and the Weaver.
The Subjugators are gigantic humanoid creatures who look similar to Rhulk, who you may recall as the final boss of the Vow of the Disciple Raid. Subjugators command the forces of the Witness and wield a massive Glaive-like weapon that deals Stasis and Strand damage.
The Grim is the most unique-looking enemy type in the entire Destiny universe. It’s the game’s first flying creature that visually resembles a bat but is far more deadly than that.
The Grim wields a gun and can use its screeching voice to apply a debuff that suppresses the player’s abilities.
The Husk is a melee tank that will charge toward you with its blade-like arms to slice you in half. They are fast and frantic and are especially challenging to take down when faced in groups.
Once you have killed a Husk, it’s not game over, as it will summon a slithery creature called a Geist that could still kill you.
Lastly, there are Attendant and Weavers, who deal Stasis and Strand damage, respectively. While not as formidable as other Destiny 2 Dread types, they can put up a decent challenge by freezing, suspending, or pulling you toward themselves using various Stasis and Strand elemental abilities.
That’s everything you need to know about the Dread Destiny 2 enemy faction.
