Microsoft has confirmed that the Xbox Series X will finally launch globally in November. The exact date, pricing information, and pre-order details were not announced yet, however.

While this is great news for gamers who have been eagerly anticipating the release of Microsoft’s next-generation console, the announcement comes alongside news that Halo Infinite — one of the most awaited titles for the Xbox Series X — will be delayed until 2021.

Despite the Halo delay, gamers have a lot to look forward to with the Xbox Series X being able to accommodate a library of thousands of previous and current Xbox titles, “spanning four generations.”

Microsoft also claims that more than 100 games optimized for the next-gen gaming system are scheduled to be released within the year. These include new games like Dirt 5 (October 9), Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (launch title), Yakuza: Like a Dragon (launch title), and Gears Tactics: Optimized for Xbox Series X (Holiday 2020), as well as popular current titles like Destiny 2, Forza Horizon 4, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

The Xbox Smart Delivery system ensures that players who already bought these games for current generation consoles will be able to play the optimized version when the Xbox Series X comes out.

Microsoft is also shining the spotlight on Xbox Game Pass as “the best way to discover new games” as well as a means to “take their console gaming on the go.” In addition to providing a curated library of new console and PC games, Game Pass Ultimate will also allow members to play more than 100 games on Android mobile devices from the cloud.
