Don’t know which weapon, artifact, or team will make the best Emilie build?
We’ve got you covered with our detailed Emilie build guide, which shares the best weapons, artifacts, and team comps that best suit her while explaining how they work with her character kit.
For players who don’t know much about Emilie, she is a 5-star off-field Dendro DPS unit and a Polearm wielder in Genshin Impact. She makes her debut as a playable character in the second half of the version 4.8 update.
For players looking forward to performing gacha pulls on her Character Event Wish banner, bookmark this guide so you know how to build her right.
Genshin Impact Emilie best build
The best build for Emilie focuses on improving her ATK%, as her abilities scale with this attribute, while maintaining a good CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG ratio and Dendro DMG Bonus%.
That being said, for players who don’t know, Emilie’s playstyle revolves around her Lumidouce Case ability, which you can trigger using her Elemental Skill, Fragrance Extraction, and her Elemental Burst, Aromatic Explication.
The ability has three levels — the higher the level, the higher its damage. But that’s the outset of Emilie’s damage-dealing capability.
The real damage comes from her passive skills, Lingering Fragrance, where each time it collects 2 Scents, the Level 2 Lumidouce Case will consume Scents and release Cleardew Cologne that deals AoE Dendro DMG equal to 600% of her ATK to opponents.
Combined with the other two passives, you’ll get a better idea of what sort of weapons, artifacts, and team comps you must be using with Emilie:
- Headspace Capture: When the Lumidouce Case created by Emilie is on the field, all party members gain 85% Pyro RES against Burning DMG.
- Rectification: Emilie deals increased DMG to Burning opponents based on her ATK, with every 1,000 ATK increasing DMG dealt by 15%. The maximum DMG bonus that can be gained this way is 36%.
For the Genshin Impact veterans who might wonder whether Emilie’s Skills can snapshot, it does not, but on the bright side, her abilities have a high uptime due to the meager cooldown time.
With all that out of the way, let’s look at the best weapons, artifacts, and team comps you will need to attain the best build for Emilie in Genshin Impact.
Best Emilie build: Best weapons
The best weapon for Emilie in Genshin Impact is none other than her signature Polearm weapon, the Lumidouce Elegy, which offers a CRIT Rate% sub stat and a weapon skill called Bright Dawn Overture tailored towards Emilie’s character kit.
However, if you are not willing to perform gacha pulls on Emilie’s weapon, you can use any other Polearm that offers a sub stat that raises CRIT Rate, CRIT DMG, or ATK% and a weapon skill that increases ATK%, such as Shenhe’s signature Polearm, the Calamity Queller, Hu Tao’s Staff of Homa, Xiao’s Primordial Jade Winged-Spear or any other.
Craftable weapons like the Kitain Cross Spear or event weapons like the Missive Windspear are excellent choices for free-to-play players. For slight spenders, we recommend the Deathmatch Polearm, which you can get from the Shop or battle pass. It is one of the best, if not the best, 4-star weapon choice for Emilie.
That being said, here’s a complete overview of the weapons, their rarity, sub-stat, and skills for weapons that we recommend using with Emilie:
WEAPON | STATS | PRIORITY |
Lumidouce Elegy (5-star) | Base ATK: 608 Second Stat: CRIT Rate% Secondary Stat Bonus: 33.1% Bright Dawn Overture: ATK increased by 15%. The 2 aforementioned effects can be triggered even when the character is off-field. | 1 |
Calamity Queller (5-star) | Base ATK: 741 Second Stat: ATK% Secondary Stat Bonus: 16.5% Extinguishing Precept: Gain 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus. Can be triggered even when the character is not on the field. | 6 |
Best Emilie build: Best artifacts
The best artifact for Emilie in Genshin Impact is the Unfinished Reverie set, which was introduced in the game with the version 4.6 update. The Unfinished Reverie not only significantly increases ATK% but also improves Emilie’s off-field DPS capabilities and benefits her Pyro team comps.
So how does that work? When you equip four pieces of the Unfinished Reverie artifact set, you get an 18% ATK bonus, and upon leaving combat for 3 seconds, the DMG dealt increases by 50%, with an additional 10%, stacking up to 50% if there are burning enemies.
Another great artifact for Emilie is the Deepwood Memories that you can use to focus on improving Emilie’s Dendro DMG, as it increases the Dendro DMG Bonus by +15% while reducing targets’ Dendro RES by 30% for 8 seconds.
However, if you don’t have good pieces of the above two artifact sets, you can also use an old set like the Golden Troupe to significantly increase the DPS output of Emilie’s Elemental Skill.
If you want to see what happens if you keep increasing Emilie’s ATK%, try equipping two pieces from artifact sets that improve the ATK% attribute.
That said, here are the artifacts, their set bonuses, and priority to ensure you equip the right set on Emilie:
ARTIFACT SET | SET BONUS | Priority |
Unfinished Reverie | 2-piece bonus: ATK +18% 4-piece bonus: After leaving combat for 3s, DMG dealt increased by 50%. In combat, if no Burning opponents are nearby for more than 6s, this DMG Bonus will decrease by 10% per second until it reaches 0%. When a Burning opponent exists, it will increase by 10% instead until it reaches 50%. This effect still triggers if the equipping character is off-field. | 1 |
Deepwood Memories | 2-piece bonus: Dendro DMG Bonus +15% 4-piece bonus: After Elemental Skills or Bursts hit opponents, the targets’ Dendro RES will be decreased by 30% for 8s. This effect can be triggered even if the equipping character is not on the field. | 2 |
Golden Troupe | 2-piece bonus: Elemental Skill DMG + 20% 4-piece bonus: Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 20%. Additionally, when not on the field, Elemental Skill DMG will be further increased by 20%. This effect will be cleared 2s after taking the field. | 3 |
Artifact sub-stats and attribute focus
When using the artifacts from the above-mentioned sets for Emilie, we recommend focusing on the following attributes while equipping each piece to ensure maximum DPS:
- Sand: ATK %
- Goblet: Dendro DMG
- Circlet: CRIT Rate/CRIT DMG
As for sub-stats, go as per this priority: ATK% > CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG > ER (Energy Recharge) > EM (Elemental Mastery)
Best Emilie build: Best team comps
Here are the best team comps for Emilie in Genshin Impact:
Best Emilie Team Comp 1
CHARACTER | NAME | ROLE |
Emilie | Sub DPS | |
Arleccino | Main DPS | |
Bennett | Support/ ATK% Buffer
OR | Zhongli OR Kazuha | Support |
The Scents mechanic is one of the most crucial elements of Emilie’s character kit as it significantly increases her DPS. And how do you generate Scents? You do it when you use the Elemental Skill when opponents are Burning.
This team comp focuses on utilizing Zhongli for his shield and decreasing opponents’ Elemental and Physical RES. Arlecchino not only benefits from Burning enemies but she can also apply Burn status.
If you want to efficiently apply Burn to multiple enemies while reducing their resistance and increasing damage done by you for the respective element, you can use Kazuha instead of Zhongli.
As for Bennet, you need him to buff your ATK%, a battery to generate Energy Orbs and create Pyro Resonance with Arlecchino to get another 25% boost in ATK.
Best Emilie Team Comp 2
CHARACTER | NAME | ROLE |
Emilie | Sub DPS | |
Lyney | Main DPS | |
Bennett | Support/ ATK% Buffer
OR | Zhongli OR Kazuha | Support |
This team comp is another version of the first team comp that uses Lyney as the main DPS and for applying Burn than Arlecchino. Other than that, run this team like you would with the first team comp.
Best Emilie Team Comp 3
CHARACTER | NAME | ROLE |
Emilie | Sub DPS | |
OR | Ganyu OR Wriothesly | Main DPS |
Xiang Ling | Support | |
Bennett | Support/ ATK% Buffer |
This team comp focuses on the Burn-Melt reaction to maximize the overall DPS output. Emilie will serve the Sub DPS role and help maintain the Burning status. For players who aren’t aware, you can increase the duration of Burning status by reapplying Dendro.
Wriothesly or Ganyu will serve as the main DPS and for proc’ing Melt with the help of a continuous Pyro applier like Xiangling. As for Bennet, you need him for what he does best—support!
