Liyue’s annual Lantern Rite event is a spectacle that travelers shouldn’t miss, with plenty of activities and games for everyone to enjoy.
Of course, a Genshin Impact event would not be complete without generous rewards and freebies.
HoYoverse is giving away a free 4-star character to all players participating in the event, similar to the previous Lantern Rite celebrations.
How to get a free 4-star character in Genshin’s Lantern Rite event
Players will need to complete all phases of this year’s Lantern Rite event, “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze” in exchange for an invitation for their desired 4-star character.
You will need a total of 800 Festive Fever to receive a free 4-star during this year’s Lantern Rite.

Once you meet the requirements, go to the Events overview.
Select the character you want to obtain and click on the “Confirm Invitation” button to get your free 4-star character. Only one invitation is offered during the event.

“Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze” Lantern Rite 2024 events
This year’s Lantern Rite features three main activities:
- Paper Shadows A-Foraging: In this paper theater, travelers must guide Guoba and Yuegui to find ingredients to make tasty dishes
- Joyful Beasts and their Auspices: – In this co-op mini-game, players can experience the charm of Wushou Dance
- Iridescent Cloud-Striding: Players can use the “Golden Carp’s Leap” to fly through the air, surrounded by exploding fireworks

“Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze” Lantern Rite 2024 eligibility
To participate in “Vibrant Harriers Aloft in Spring Breeze,” players need to accomplish the following:
- Reach Adventure Rank 20 or above
- Complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III “Song of the Dragon and Freedom”
To get the best experience from this event, accomplish the following as well:
- Complete Archon Quest Chapter I: Act III “A New Star Approaches” and Xianyun’s Story Quest “Grus Serena Chapter: Act I” first
- Complete Furina’s Story Quest “Animula Choragi Chapter: Act I” before accepting the quest “Hustle and Bustle” to enjoy the event
