Primogems are your key to unlocking powerful characters and rare weapons that will shape your gameplay experience, and these become even more important when you roll on the Genshin Impact 5.0 banners.

Two new 5-star characters are making their debut as the game opens up Natlan, the Pyro region. Their elements, however, aren’t actually fiery.

First up is Mualani, a 5-star Hydro character who loves to go with the flow and surf the ways. In phase two, you’ll be able to pull Kinich, a 5-star Dendro Claymore user. There’s also new weapons and artifacts, so read on to find out more.

Mualani’s signature 5-star Catalyst is called Surf’s Up, and it’ll be available alongside her character banner.

Kinich’s signature 5-star Claymore weapon that will be available alongside his character banner is called Fang of the Mountain King.

There are also five new forgeable weapons introduced in Genshin Impact 5.0 — Flute of Ezpitzal, Earth Shaker, Footprint of the Rainbow, Ring of Yaxche, and Chain Breaker.

The two new artifact sets are called Obsidian Codex and Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, which are likely best suited for Mualani and Kinich, respectively.

Genshin Impact 5.0 releases on August 28, 2024, kicking off phase one with Mualani’s featured character banner. After three weeks, on September 18, 2024, is when phase two is expected to begin.
