Natlan stands out as one of the most captivating regions in Genshin Impact, teeming with exotic wildlife, distinctive tribes, and formidable enemies to conquer.
A great way to dive deep into this vibrant world is through the Tribal Chronicles, a series of exclusive quests in Natlan that offer a glimpse into the daily lives of its inhabitants.
Here’s everything you need to know about this series of quests. Find out how to unlock the quests and get a sneak peek at what awaits you on this exciting journey.
What are Tribal Chronicles?
Tribal Chronicles are a series of quests in the game that offer a deeper look into the lives and cultures of Natlan’s tribes.
Currently, there are three available quests, each focusing on the first three tribes introduced in the game: the Scions of Canopy, the Children of Echoes, and the People of the Springs.
How to unlock Tribal Chronicles
To start these quests, you have to unlock Natlan. These are the requirements to unlock the region in the game.
- Reach Adventure Rank level 19
- Finish all three Mondstadt Archon quests in Prologue: The Outlander Who Caught the Wind
- Act I: The Outlander Who Caught the Wind
- Act II: For a Tomorrow Without Tears
- Act III: Song of the Dragon and Freedom
These quests are marked by a pink exclamation point, guiding you to the stories waiting to be uncovered.
Tribal Chronicles quests
Unlike standard story quests that focus on a single playable character, Tribal Chronicles immerses players in the diverse lives and traditions of Natlan’s tribes.
These quests offer a broader look into the culture, legends, and daily experiences of the region’s people.
Completing Tribal Chronicles also rewards players with valuable items like Primogems, Mora, EXP materials, and reputation EXP, making the adventure even more rewarding.
Children of Echoes Quest
The quest marker for this adventure is located near the Children of Echoes village, close to the Sulfurous Veins. In this quest, a young Imix urgently requests your assistance in locating Master Cheven, who ventured into the mines but has yet to return.
You set off into the depths of the mines, and after a tense search, you find and rescue Cheven. Grateful for your help, she reveals an exciting discovery—a large Volcanic Crystal, unearthed near the ominous Shadow Pin.
Back in the village, Cheven invites you to join her in meeting Tlazolli, an esteemed figure within their community. However, upon arrival, Tlazolli is nowhere to be found.
After searching the village, you finally locate her, and she presents you with a rare and precious gift—a Blazegem Inscription. This invaluable heirloom is a symbol of trust, meant to be passed down through generations.
Scions of the Canopy Quest
The quest marker for this Tribal Chronicle can be found near the Scions of the Canopy Village. As you approach, Huni, a villager, urgently requests your help.
Your first task is locating the three young Saurians owned by the village elder and returning them safely.
After successfully rescuing the Saurians, Huni invites you to experience the warmth and hospitality of their village.
In the village, you meet Elder Trinidad, who encourages you to witness a significant cultural event known as Turnfire Night. This sacred ceremony honors their ancestor, Burkina, and his companion, Kongamoto the Mountain King.
However, there’s more to this ceremony than meets the eye. Trinidad reveals that the ritual also serves a critical purpose — cleansing the Abyssal corruption that has taken hold of Kongamoto, who has been in a deep slumber, tainted by dark powers, ever since.
In a gesture of trust and honor, Huni asks if you would take on the role of Flame Bearer for the ceremony.
After practicing the sacred rites, elder Trinidad observes your dedication and skill, declaring you worthy of carrying the ceremonial flame.
People of the Springs Quest
The quest marker appears near the People of the Spring settlement, located just south of Ameyalco Waters.
Upon arriving, you rescue a group of Sumeru scholars, and during their grateful chatter, you overhear something intriguing—a legend about a mysterious island deeply woven into the folklore of the People of the Spring.
With curiosity sparked, you and Paimon embark on a journey to uncover the secrets of this fabled island.
Your first step leads you to the chief of the People of the Spring, hoping he can shed light on the island’s location.
The chief, wise and cautious, admits that the island is more than a myth. If you seek this knowledge, he requests a favor in return: expose the scammers preying on unsuspecting tourists in the area.
After successfully dealing with the scammers, the chief reveals a crucial truth—the island is nearly impossible to reach without a trustworthy guide. Only with their help can you hope to embark on this perilous journey.
