Ruin Machines in Genshin Impact’s Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma regions can be quite rude. You’re there, minding your own business, when suddenly, a red arrow appears near your character.
Next thing you know, missiles are flying into their face.
Categorized as humanoid machine Elite enemies in the world of Teyvat, some Ruin Machines guard chests, some are farmed for materials to upgrade weapons, while others are one-time bosses.
In Sumeru, released in Genshin Impact 3.0, you’ll notice that a handful of them are locked behind the “Seal on the Stone Pillar”. Here’s a quick guide on how to unlock them.
What you need to do to unlock the sealed Ruin Machines of Sumeru
When you encounter the Seal on the Stone Pillar for the first time in Genshin Impact’s new region, it will open a new archive entry in the tutorial.
You’ll notice that the machines are sealed by vine-like Dendro energy that holds these monsters in place. They won’t attack you, unlike the free-walking ones, until you’ve unlocked them.
The white, rounded cone pillars must be destroyed using Pyro.
Some of these rounded cone pillars are sealed behind Dendro stones. To break the first layer, find a nearby Dendrogranum to summon Dendrograna.
Then, attack to shatter them and reveal the hidden cone pillar behind, which Pyro will once again take care of.
Once all the green energy is gone, get ready to take down the Ruin Hunter!
