Jade is a new 5-star character in Honkai Star Rail of the Erudition path who can deal Quantum Damage. The IPC manager has a hybrid kit, which allows her to provide a speed buff to an ally and deal AOE and follow-up attacks.
Jade works well with characters who can also deal AOE and follow-up attacks, so it’s best to pair her with someone like Aventurine or Kafka.
Best Jade team compositions in HSR
That said, since Jade has synergies with so many different characters, it can be a bit overwhelming to decide which ones are better than the rest. As such, in this ONE Esports guide, we explain the best Jade team compositions in Honkai Star Rail, including premium and free-to-play budget-friendly ones.
Best premium Jade team in Honkai Star Rail
For the best premium Jade team, we recommend going with the following characters:
- Argenti/Blade/Kafka (DPS)
- Aventurine (Buffer/Support)
- Ruan Mei/Robin (Buffer)
- Jade (Buffer/DPS)
Aventurine is the most essential ally in any Jade team for multiple reasons.
Firstly, he can bolster defense for all characters. The debt collector (AOE follow-up DPS character) would benefit most from this because Jade will consistently leech off their health, and having a shield will increase their chance of survival, particularly in challenging content like Pure Fiction.
Secondly, and most importantly, Aventurine’s Ultimate can inflict the Unerved debuff on enemies that makes them more prone to critical damage. Jade benefits the most from this because she can deal tons of crit damage to enemies.
Lastly, Aventurine can inflict his own massive 7-hit follow-up attack, which doesn’t necessarily impact Jade unless it wipes out that wave of enemies and gets Jade a stack of Pawned Asset, but contributes to the team’s overall team damage output.
Jade can use her skill to make the DPS character her debt collector and boost their speed. This could increase their turns, allow them to deal more damage, and help Jade trigger her own follow-up attack more frequently.
Jade needs eight stacks of charges to execute her follow-up attack. The more enemies Jade or the debt collector attacks, the more charge attacks she gains, which is why, having a DPS follow-up attack character as the debt collector is essential.
Also, the more follow-up attacks Jade deals, the more quickly she can stack up Pawned Asset, which boosts her crit damage.
This is what I meant earlier when I said Jade can deal tons of crit damage. Now, if you can invest in equipment that bolsters her crit rate, you’re golden.
Lastly, a buffer like Robin or Ruan Mei can boost all ally’s attacks and damage. I recommend going with Robin primarily because one of her bonus Trace abilities can boost crit damage from follow-up attacks, which seems like it was made specifically for Jade.
Best free-to-play Jade team in HSR
For a more budget-friendly Jade team, we recommend going with the following characters:
- Asta/Himeko/Herta (DPS)
- Dr. Ratio (Sub-DPS)
- Tingyun (Buffer)
- Jade (Buffer/DPS)
Asta, Himeko, and Herta can deal AOE attacks, which makes them suitable for being Jade’s debt collector.
Himeko and Herta can also deal follow-up attacks, which is a bonus. However, Himeko isn’t exactly a free character, but you can get her from the standard banner.
Either way, she’s is more suited for Pure Fiction, so if you’re interested only in playing regular content, it’s best to go with Asta or Herta.
I recommend Asta for two reasons. First, her ultimate can give everyone a speed boost. This would benefit Asta (and thus Jade) the most because she can get more turns and deal more AOE attacks.
Secondly, Asta’s Talent allows her to gain a charging buff by hitting different enemies and can increase all allies’ attacks.
This makes Asta the best of both worlds as not only she can deal AOE damage to allow Jade to trigger her follow-up attack more frequently, but she can also boost the entire party’s attack and allow everyone to deal more damage.
Herta is also pretty good, especially since you can trigger her follow-up attacks to deal extra damage. Naturally, she would be a better choice if there were enemies weak to Ice instead of Fire.
Dr. Ratio can’t deal AOE damage or he would have made the perfect debt collector for Jade. Regardless, he can still deal massive damage to a single target, even more so with Asta’s attack buff.
Tingyun is the perfect buffer for Jade’s budget-friendly team. She can boost Jade’s attack, and also regenerate energy, allowing her to use her ultimate more frequently and deal AOE damage.
Furthermore, with Tingyun’s Talent, Jade or whoever has the Benediction buff, can launch another follow-up attack after Tingyun attacks an enemy.
And that’s pretty much it!
On a side note, if you want to play more defensively, you could replace Dr. Ratio with someone like Natasha, Lynx or March 7th (who can also launch follow-up attacks.)
That sums up our best Jade team compositions in Honkai Star Rail.
