Who is Black Swan in Honkai Star Rail?

Black Swan is the first featured Penacony 5-star character in version 2.0.
She is a Memokeeper of the Garden of Recollection. This faction worships Fuli, the Aeon that presides over the Path of Remembrance.

She can see the future through her crystal ball and also has a fondness for collecting unique memories.
She first appeared in the The Game Awards 2023 Candidacy video titled “A Story That Never Grows Full,” where she is seen using a crystal ball to view the Trailblazers’ journey through different planets and locations — Herta Space Station, Jarilo-VI, and Xianzhou Luofu.
Warning: Spoilers if you haven’t finished playing the Trailblaze Mission “The Sound and the Fury.”
In the game, she is first mentioned by Acheron, claiming that she has encountered “the elegant Memokeeper” in Penacony.
She appears in the later part of the first Penacony Trailblaze mission “The Sound and the Fury.” In the part “Through A Glass Darkly,” she helps Firefly and the Trailblazer defeat the Memory Zone Meme “Something Unto Death.”
During the battle, players have a chance to try Black Swan and her skills for a brief period.
In a finishing move, she throws one of her cards, traps the Meme, and creates a portal for Firefly and the Trailblazer to escape to safety.
She befriends the Astral Express crew and reveals that the “true Memory Zone” is a “chaotic, enigmatic” realm where a beast lives. She offers to guide the crew through the Memory Zone for her interest, stating that she “yearns to experience dazzling, cherished memories.”
Notably, Black Swan claims she knows everyone in Penacony.
Fast forward to Firefly’s death, Black Swan gathers all memories of her that were left in the Memory Zone and reproduces them in fragments to further investigate how her demise came to be.
Eventually, they meet Sam of the Stellaron Hunters. During Acheron and Sam’s heated battle, Black Swan stops the Trailblazer from getting further involved, and, in a flash, transports her to a different dimension with IPC Aventurine waiting for them.
At the end of the mission, it is revealed that Black Swan secretly collaborates with Aventurine to bring players to the IPC employee.
Black Swan persuades the Trailblazer to trust Aventurine, or rather trust her “and see the ‘truth’ with your own eyes.”
She promises to protect the Trailblazer and safely return them to the Astral Express crew.
More details about her lore will be revealed as the Trailblaze mission progresses in HSR.
