The news was confirmed by the Honor of Kings Championships committee on social media on August 13, 2024.

What is the Honor of Kings Championships?
The Honor of Kings Championship 2024 stands as the pinnacle of the Honor of Kings esports calendar this year, marking the game’s first-ever truly global tournament.
In this inaugural world championship, 16 of the top teams from around the world will come together to compete for the prestigious title.
Teams from Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Turkey, Brazil, the Middle East and North Africa, America, Europe, the Pacific, and more are set to battle it out on the grandest stage in Honor of Kings esports.
Previously, the Honor of Kings international esports scene was highlighted by the World Champion Cup (KIC), which primarily featured teams from China along with a few from other regions.
Since the game’s global launch, Honor of Kings Esports has gained significant traction outside of China.
The momentum began with the Honor of Kings Invitational Season 2 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, this July, followed by the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason 2024 in August at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This October, the global esports community will turn its attention to Indonesia for the Honor of Kings Championship.
Why KPL Dream Team pulled out of the Honor of Kings Championships 2024
KPL Dream Team’s decision came about as both the Honor of Kings Championship and the KPL Grand Finals are set to take place in October, creating a scheduling conflict.
As a result, the team has voluntarily relinquished their position in the prestigious tournament, allowing other teams to vie for the open slot through the Championship Qualifiers.
This decision changes the competition and gives a chance for an underdog team to step up. All eyes will now be on the qualifiers to see which team will seize this unexpected opportunity.
Meanwhile, LGD Gaming, the runner-up in the Honor of Kings Invitational Midseason, will retain their slot in the Championship, setting the stage for an intense showdown in October.
