Updated on June 9, 11:00 p.m. (GMT+8): Added newly announced skins for Act 2.

Spirit Blossom skins are one of the best line of cosmetics in League of Legends — and they are returning for Season 2!

Inspired by Ionian folklore, these Spirit Blossom skins add new flavor to the current lineup. Ionian champions that already have Spirit Blossom skins include Ahri, Lillia, Master Yi, Sett, Syndra, Yasuo, and Yone.

There are also a good portion of non-Ionian champions that are blessed with Spirit Blossom skins such as Yorick, Darius, Evelynn, Tristana, Aphelios, Teemo, and Thresh to name a few.

You’ll notice that the new lineup was already teased in the Spirit Blossom Beyond cinematic for Season 2. Additionally, Prestige Spirit Blossom Lux and Spirit Blossom Ivern will be earnable through the Act 1 paid pass.

League of Legends players expected Spirit Blossom 2025 to feature more Ionian champions, especially after we had a ton of Demacian champions from Noxus getting new skins in Season 1.

Riot Games explained in a media roundtable that these non-Ionian champions have been reimagined into mythical figures in Ionian folk tales told by locals. They are not canon to Runeterra, unlike Noxus Season 1.

Besides Spirit Blossom, there’s also a new category of skins called Variety Skins introduced this Season 2 –standalone skins that will either be additions to existing skin thematics or new thematics entirely. This lets Riot create new skins that players enjoy without the need to build an entire universe or storyline around them.

The next Exalted skin will be for Morgana. Additionally, Prestige skins will be available on the pass for Zed, and in the Mythic Shop for Aphelios.

Battle pass skins for Season 2 Act 2

Thomas Randby, Art Director of League of Legends Cosmetics, shared with media onsite during the Spirit Blossom Summit about the battle pass skins for Act 2.

Players can earn Dawnbringer, Janna, Nightbringer Evelynn, and Prestige Spirit Blossom Zed in the battle pass.

“We’ve been listening intently to how you’ve been responding to skins in the past and we agree that they need to feel more high quality and just exciting to earn overall. So for Janna and Evelynn, we’ve put more attention into their character models, splash art and both visual and sound effects compared to the pre–update Noxian skins that we saw in season one,” said Thomas.

In order to keep things fresh, the game devs have opted for battle pass skins to sit outside the Spirit Blossom theme to give players more variety.

The game devs intentionally drew on the contrasting Dawnbringer and Nightbringer themes to create a meaningful difference in the fantasies that they’re presenting.

“We also feel there’s a cool connection between Dawnbringer and Nightbringer and some of the duality that we see in the Spirit Blossom theme,” Thomas said.

According to Thomas, Evelynn slipped into the demonic visuals of Nightbringer very naturally and was made to contrast Dawnbringer Janna’s more angelic appearance.

The game devs overhauled both her visual and sound effects, incorporating new models for her Hate Spikes and new visual indicators for Allure and her ultimate, Last Caress.

Prestige Spirit Blossom Zed

For Prestige Spirit Blossom Zed, the game devs wanted to push for more beautiful, luxurious, VFX and model textures that players associate Prestige skins with.

Visually, the team kept Zed recognizably Spirit Blossom, but with added treatments to upgrade his model beyond what you typically see in an Epic skin offering.

“We’re really excited about pushing that crystalline material of Prestige’s past, allowing that to make an appearance here in his shuriken and weaponry, allowing for a more dynamic reflection of light in real time,” Thomas explained.

For Spirit Blossom Akali, the team wanted to use unique shapes in her hair that fit the constraints of the existing rig, but feel fresh and unique to the Spirit Blossom universe instead of mapping a one-to-one copy of her base hairstyle, Thomas shared.
