League of Legends game mode, Arena, returns in season 14, and it’s more exciting than ever.
New Prismatic items, more Augments, and added map hazards are just a few things you can look forward to when jumping back in.
The size of the Arena has also doubled, making the original four-duo competition a “2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2”. That said, winning in Arena is the hardest it’s ever been — making champ selection even more crucial.
Follow our best Arena champions guide for the easiest picks to win with in LoL season 14.
Eight best Arena champions in League of Legends season 14
Important disclaimer: Arena is meant to be played for fun. While these picks are insanely powerful (with the right Augments), they shouldn’t prevent you from trying out off-meta champs with your friends.
Swain
First on our best Arena champions list is the Ruler of Noxus. Swain has a great battle mage kit that can set up huge plays in Arena, especially with an AP build that makes his Q damage devastatingly high in close quarters.
Swain can be paired up with a lot of different champions. Zone control, hard crowd control, and a little sustain are all in his toolkit; perfect for other hyper-carries like Vayne, Jax, or Kayle.
Shen
Shen is a bruiser that can taunt, shield, and block enemy attacks, which are extremely hard to deal with in Arena.
On-hit builds with Guinsoo are decent enough to win in low-damage lobbies. Building Heartsteel also makes Shen super dependable. Heck, even Support items work on him.
Kayn (Rhaast)
Besides getting great mobility, Kayn’s Rhaast gives you enough sustain to win any 1v1 in the late-game.
Eclipse plus Shojin is an excellent rush build. Sterak’s also gives you more time in the fight (especially after his +0.5 bonus HP buff).
Items aside, grab the “Earthwake” and “Goredrink” Augments when you can for extra Omnivamp.
Vayne
“Lightning Strikes”, “Twice Thrice”, and “Tap Dancer” are only some Augments that can make Vayne absolutely nasty in Arena.
Having Guardian’s Hammer, Berserker’s, and Hamstringer is the usual build path. But if you’re up against bruisers, Guardian Angel will make you extremely annoying to fight.
Morgana
Next on our best Arena champions list is Morgana, whose hard CC and zoning ult make her a formidable Support in 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2.
Running Morgana with either Eureka or Jeweled Gauntlet prismatics will make her a major nuisance.
But if your RNG is bad, Witchful Thinking or Bread and Butter are still great to build on, mainly with Liandry’s and Deathcap.
Volibear
Volibear was a popular pick last year because of his terrifying CC, speed, and stun abilities. On top of that, his passive damages multiple foes with every other hit.
In Arena, having a varied kit lets you try a wider range of Augments, giving you more win conditions. So, anything related to basic attacks, ability haste, AP, sustain, and immobilizing enemies enhances Volibear greatly, especially “Mystic Punch.”
That said, Voli isn’t the most mobile champ in Arena. And getting stunlocked by a specific build can shut you down quickly.
Taric
A duo going up against Taric is liable to get stunlocked into infinity, making him the ultimate Support.
This handsome gem of a gentleman not only extends his stun ability, but also frequently healing and shielding with enough Mana/Attack Speed.
When your partner gets locked down, go Invulnerable with Taric’s R for more time. And if you ever get “Spirit Link” or “All For You”, you’ll secure a major advantage.
Warwick
Last on our best Arena champions list is Warwick, the Wrath of Zaun. If you like winning games by outlasting your foes, this champ is for you.
Out of all of best Arena champions, this werewolf has incredible mobility, crowd control, and lifesteal to make a lobby rush a Bramble Vest.
There is literally nowhere to hide on the map if you’re up against a Warwick. His AOE fear can repel bruisers, and he can’t get pinned down if he’s ever paired with enabler/stun champs like Lulu or Taric.
