Renowned coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun is set to make a comeback with T1.
In preparation for the upcoming League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2024 season, kkOma will be stepping into the shoes of the team’s former coaches, Kim “Sky” Ha-neul and Kim “Roach” Kang-hee.
After a year-long hiatus in 2023 following his time with DWG KIA (now Dplus KIA), kkOma’s return has stirred excitement ahead of the LCK 2024 off-season.

Welcome back to T1, coach kkOma
The organization has not only brought kkOma back but has also implemented changes to the coaching staff. Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon, who previously served as interim head coach, has transitioned to the role of coach, working alongside kkOma.
KkOma’s return to T1 carries immense significance, given his decade-long history with the esports organization.
Although he initially started as a jungler in 2011 with StarTale, it was his transition from a pro player to a coach that truly showcased his talents. Serving as a coach for T1 from 2012 to 2017, kkOma played a crucial role in securing three World Championships for the team in 2013, 2015, and 2016.
His coaching prowess extends beyond the LCK team, as he also led Team Korea to a gold medal in the League of Legends category at the Asian Games 2022, a multi-sport event held in Hangzhou, China.
