What is Esports World Cup 2024?
The Esports World Cup (EWC 2024) is the first of its kind, taking the place of the previous Gamers8 festival.
It’s an annual international esports tournament series held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, running from July 3 to August 25, 2024. This massive event features competitions across 22 different video game titles.
EWC 2024 boasts the largest combined prize pool in esports history, with over US$60 million up for grabs. The games featured are incredibly diverse, with popular titles like League of Legends, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive sharing the stage with mobile titles like PUBG Mobile and Free Fire.

Esports World Cup 2024 LoL format
The League of Legends tournament at the Esports World Cup 2024 is a single elimination bracket featuring eight teams.
Eight teams, considered the best from their respective major regions, were directly invited by the organizers. These eight teams are seeded into a single elimination bracket.
The quarterfinal and semifinal use a best-of-three format, while the grand final is a best-of-five series.
The winning team bags the lion’s share of US$1 million and EWC Club Points.
What are EWC Club Points in Esports World Cup?
Club points are like a team’s scorecard in the Esports World Cup’s Club Championship. Earning them unlocks a shot at a massive US$20 million prize pool, separate from the individual game winnings.
Across all the EWC’s various game tournaments, teams collect points based on their final placements. The more successful a team is across different games, the higher their club points climb.
To win the Club Championship’s grand prize, a team needs to do more than just rack up points. They also have to win at least one of the individual game tournaments.
