League of Legends superstar, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, announced today that he will donate ₩30 million (~US$25,000) to the Community Chest of Korea, the government-sanctioned non-profit organization that contributes to COVID-19 coronavirus prevention and relief causes.
His League of Legends team T1, will also contribute all livestream donations made to players this week to the cause.
In their message, T1 stated that they support everyone who works to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus, and encouraged others to work together to overcome the current situation.
This is not the first time that Faker has made a public donation. In October 2018, he announced that he would be donating stream revenue for the month to the UN Foundation, an international non-profit organization that drives global progress and tackles urgent problems.

In 2017, Faker donated his SKT uniform to a charity auction.
Other LCK teams and professional players, including Gen.G mid laner Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong and Dragon-X, have also made donations to the same charity in the last two weeks.
The Community Chest of Korea is raising funds to combat the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus and are actively accepting donations.
As of March 9, there are more than 7,300 cases confirmed in South Korea.
The coronavirus outbreak has caused the LCK to be indefinitely postponed after the end of Spring 2020 round one. No official announcements have been made about when the second round robin will resume.
