While FlyQuest may have lost high-profile players Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage to TSM and Jason “WildTurtle” Tran to CLG just last week, the organization has managed to sign three ex-Cloud9 players.
The team announced the news through a clever roster unboxing video that highlighted C9 CEO Jack Etienne’s package to FLY. In the video, the team is seen unboxing Eric “Licorice” Ritchie, Christian “Palafox” Palafox, and David “Diamond” Bérubé.
Licorice is one of the best top-laners of the league. During C9’s Spring championship run, he easily handled the top lane and enabled Robert “Blaber” Huang to control the map with ease. Being an LCS veteran and a NA resident, the top-laner holds so much value and brings a refined perspective into FlyQuest’s gameplay.
As for FlyQuest’s current top-laner Colin “Solo” Earnest, we’ll likely see him transfer to the Academy roster or find his way onto another team if he’s looking for a starting LCS position.

Diamond and Palafox come into the FlyQuest roster as young players who are ready to test their limits in the LCS. While they may be coming from Cloud9’s academy team, the two topped the charts in their respective roles.
Palafox was an absolute killer in the mid-lane, taking first in kills (84) for summer while Diamond outclassed team fights and claimed first in summer assists (166).
While the roster is by no means finished, FlyQuest is shaping up to be a solid 2021 contender. With the team also taking an import slot with LATAM jungler Brandon “Josedeodo” Villegas, FlyQuest will be keeping an eye out for a solid ADC player to be the final piece to its Showcase Greatness roster.
