Cloud9’s newly role swapped mid laner Ibrahim “Fudge” Allami has made a splash in the LCS Lock In 2022 tournament, helping his team finish with a 3-1 record in the group stage.
Twitter account LoL Esports Stats revealed that in two of these games, Fudge somehow managed to build his Mythic item before the 10 minute mark.
An even more shocking revelation was that he holds the top three spots for fastest Mythic item purchases among mid laners at Lock In.
Besides the Fudge Factor, the answer lies in a rune that Cloud9 head coach Nick “LS” De Cesare has talked up for months.

Cloud9 Fudge breaks mid laner records for fastest Mythic item purchases at LCS Lock In 2022
In Fudge’s debut game as Cloud9’s mid laner against TSM, he purchased Lost Chapter at 4:56, followed by Luden’s Echo on Viktor at 9:52.
In comparison, his mid lane opponent Tommy “ry0ma” Le built his first major item on Corki, Manamune, at 12:26.
Having that power spike nearly four minutes earlier than his counterpart gave Fudge more firepower when it came to smaller skirmishes, allowing him to secure a kill on ry0ma.
Fudge would repeat similar item purchase timings in the next two games, buying Eclipse on Jayce at 9:43 against FlyQuest, and Crown of the Shattered Queen on Viktor at 10:18 against TSM.
Fudge achieved these timings even though he did not snowball his lane. Instead, his advantages were built incrementally as he played the lane out safely and farmed minions well, and did not die a single time during the laning phase.
Another factor contributed to these timings as well — in all three games, he had the Future’s Market rune from the Inspiration tree.
LS explains why Future’s Market is overpowered
On July 16, 2021, LS posted a video on his YouTube channel titled, “WIN LANE IN 4 MINUTES! How To Use Future’s Market TECH”. In it, he explained how Future’s Market allows mid laners to get their power spikes quicker and win the “war of attrition” over time.
In preparation for Fudge’s transition to the mid lane, LS has been coaching him on mid lane fundamentals and the laning phase. This undoubtedly includes using Future’s Market as well.
