The 2020 League of Legends Mid-Season Cup is looking at an all-LPL final with FunPlus Phoenix and Top Esports stomping out the competition on day three. Though Gen.G and JD Gaming had some moments throughout the two series, FPX and TES came out on top with definitive engagements and overall map domination.
FunPlus Phoenix vs JD Gaming
Despite having an amazing first game, JD Gaming lost their touch in the rest of the series. With FPX going in headstrong to get two back-to-back wins, JDG tried to match their opponents’ offensive pressure with Lee “LokeN” Dong-wook and his Ezreal. Unfortunately, LokeN and Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok were baited by Kim “Doinb” Tae-sang and his Frozen Tomb, with the rest of the FPX squad pummeling the retreating JDG duo.
With Baron and Infernal Soul buffing their champs, FPX charged through the toplane in no time. With the 3v5 advantage, the 2019 Worlds champions got an ace in the base before destroying the Nexus for the reverse-sweep.

Top Esports vs Gen.G
Riddled with shorthanded drafts and unfortunate outplays, Gen.G barely made waves in their series against Top Esports. In their final game together, TES muscled their way to get the Mountain Drake, getting two quick kills on Gen.G and putting themselves up to soul point.
Behind a few more successful clashes, TES invaded Gen.G’s base with Baron and the Mountain Soul. Even with two Nexus turrets still standing, Gen.G could not initiate through TES’s incredible zoning efforts with Gangplank and Syndra. The LPL team easily eliminated Gen.G’s final members in their base and tore down the Nexus to complete the series sweep.
Semi-finals results
