T1 has gone mainstream, and has made numerous tv show appearances.
Following their 3-0 victory over Weibo Gaming to become the 2023 League of Legends World Champions, T1 has been featured on various South Korean news programs and shows.
The entire T1 League of Legends team recently guest-starred on the popular TV show “Knowing Bros,” joining Kang Ho-dong, a top TV show host in Korea, and former K-pop idol from Super Junior, Kim Heechul.

The unique concept of this highly popular show involves dressing like high school students, and acting as friends to sidestep traditional Korean honorifics. This setting allows guests and TV show hosts to break down age-based hierarchy and engage in more open conversations.

On the show, T1 discussed a range of topics, from their experience at Worlds and recent contract renewals to the challenges they’ve faced in the last two years. They also delved into how they feel when giving each other feedback during these tough moments.
T1 opens up about giving each other feedback and receiving emotional responses
When a host asked if they ever get into fights when things aren’t going well, T1’s jungler, Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon, responded that they do, but they usually try to resolve issues amicably.
Heechul humorously said, “Gumayusi and Keria can’t help but get into intense disagreement, as bot duos are like a couple.”
Another host asked if T1’s mid laner, Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong, ever felt hurt by T1’s support, Ryu “Keria” Min-seok. Gumayusi admitted, “You know, big people are emotional. There have been times when I’ve been a hurt, just a little bit, by the tone of his voice.”
Keria explained that he usually starts by speaking nicely, but sometimes he needs to change the tone of his voice. “I realized that sometimes I have to speak firmly to get my point across,” he said.

Gumayusi clarified that it’s not about specific words but sometimes the mood or nuance of the situation. He gets hurt when “Keria doesn’t make eye contact while talking, or if the tone of his voice is a bit aggressive.”
Keria responded by saying he does that because he needs to focus on the game while speaking.
In Korean culture, there’s a common stereotype that portrays men from Busan, Keria’s hometown, as being cold, firm, and traditionally masculine. This stereotype might be at play during these interactions rather than Keria’s actual personality.
