Gen.G has exemplified dominance in the first half of the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) regular season, boasting an impeccable record of 12 — 0. With this flawless performance, Gen.G not only secured their spot in the LCK Summer 2023 playoffs, but also become the first team to do so, surpassing renowned powerhouses such as T1 and the reigning Worlds champions, DRX.
As the playoffs approach, Gen.G will be joined by five other teams, all vying for a coveted spot at this year’s World Championship (Worlds).
Full list of teams qualified for LCK Summer 2023 Playoffs
Out of the 10 franchised esports organizations competing in the LCK Summer 2023 split, only the top six qualify for playoffs. Their placement determines which round they are seeded into.
The Summer 2023 playoffs will have a double-elimination bracket from Round 2, with all matches played in best-of-five. Over US$290,000 will be on the line, split among the qualified teams.
The champion qualifies for Worlds 2023 as the LCK’s first seed. The rest of the participating teams will receive championship points based on their playoff placement, which will determine if they qualify for Worlds.
