MAD Lions rising star Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság has come a long way since his debut in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) back in 2019.

Once a rookie, MAD Lions Carzzy has proven himself a force to be reckoned with this season.

In an interview with ONE Esports, he takes a look back and shares how much he has personally grown this year.

MAD Lions experienced a devastating season last year. They qualified for the Spring and Summer Playoffs, only to get eliminated by G2 Esports and Rogue. While they secured a spot at Worlds 2020 as Europe’s fourth seed, they were eliminated in the Play-Ins, the very first stage of the competition.

Enter the 2021 season, when MAD Lions signed Spanish jungler Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla and Turkish top laner İrfan “Armut” Berk Tükek to join Marek “Humanoid” Brázda, Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser, and Carzzy.

This brand new roster turned things around for MAD, allowing them to bag the LEC Spring and Summer 2021 championship, and earn a spot at the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).

Carzzy took some time to reflect on his personal growth during the past year.

“I’ve definitely grown a lot,” shared MAD Lions Carzzy with ONE Esports. “I’ve gained a lot of confidence throughout the year. I was a zero back then, now I’m a 100, I’d say.”

The young bot laner has learned so much about League of Legends, especially during MSI when they were scrimming against Royal Never Give Up and DWG KIA.

“I think as a team we learned a lot, and now we are also learning at Worlds,” said MAD Lions Carzzy.

Coming in to Worlds 2021, the team is in Group D with Gen.G Esports, LNG Esports, and Team Liquid in the Group Stage.

They currently only managed to score one win against Gen.G, but MAD Lions Carzzy is keeping a positive mentality that they will secure a spot for the Quarterfinals.

These memes actually make Carzzy happy.

“I don’t want to be seen as only a tryhard person,” he said. “I want people to see that I like to have fun and I think people see it, so it makes me happy.”
