After being the face of League of Legends European Championship (LEC) team Fnatic for five years now, bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson has reportedly declined to renew his contract with Fnatic, opting to instead explore offers in free agency.
Rekkles’ player contract with Fnatic ended on November 16 and the 24-year old Swedish AD carry is currently looking at his options for the 2021 season. He might even be joining 2020 LEC Summer Split champions G2 Esports according to Esportsmaniacos’ Pablo Suarez.
After Luka “Perkz” Perković’s departure from G2, the organization is expected to take the lead in signing Rekkles to replace Perkz.
If G2 Rekkles happens, fans would be seeing his reunion with former teammate Rasmus “Caps” Winther.

Rekkles and Caps played together under the Fnatic banner back in 2017 until the latter decided to leave the team to join G2 Esports for LoL Esports Season 9.
Neither Fnatic not Rekkles has made an official statement about these reports. For now, Rekkles is exploring his options for Season 2021.
There were also reports that Fnatic is looking into acquiring former Cloud9 mid laner Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer.
Looking back at the team’s run this year, Fnatic fell short in claiming the trophy against G2 Esports on both the LEC Spring and Summer Splits. They were destroyed by G2 on both finals with a clean sweep 0-3.
Fast forward to Worlds 2020 when Fnatic made it to the Quarterfinals to face LPL favorites Top Esports in a best-of-five series.
Things were going well for Fnatic until Top Esports managed to pull off the first reverse sweep in the history of LoL Esports, ending Fnatic’s Worlds 2020 run.
