Riot Games has announced the official Skarner rework release date and patch.
After multiple delays, everyone’s favorite crystalline monster is finally polished and ready for action.
The trademark of his original design saw him Impale one champion in each ultimate use but that’s all about to change this Spring 2024.
He can now Impale up to three champions within a target area and we can’t wait to see what crazy combos the community comes up with.
What to expect from the Skarner rework
First released in 2011, the jungle champion gradually fell out of meta and lost his place on Summoner’s Rift.
His single-target Suppression ultimate was cool when it debuted, but hard to balance because it’s a point-and-click spell.
As new counter play options like Quicksilver Sash (QSS) were introduced, and as the meta evolved to a team fight oriented one, it was not easy for Skarner to walk up to a champion, isolate, and drag them over to your team. It also became more difficult to burst the target down in time due to durability changes.
The rework addresses his limitations, adding skill expression, skill shots, and even the ability to completely ignore terrain and go over walls using E, Ixtal’s Impact, a first for LoL. And really, who wouldn’t want to Impale three champions at the same time?
Skarner rework release date and League of Legends patch version

Riot Games announced that as part of his update, the Earthrune Skarner skin has been improved to meet current day standards, so they are bumping its tier to Deluxe and adjusting the price accordingly.
If you already own Earthrune Skarner, the improvement comes at no cost to you. If you don’t, you can buy it before the update for 520 RP.
