Korean organization T1 has now broken their own record in 2022 after defeating Kwangdong Freecs 2-1 to go 15-0 in the LCK Spring 2022 season with Faker picking Kai’Sa mid.
Until now, no team in the LCK has gone undefeated for more than 14 matches in a row in a single season. The team that set the existing 14-0 record was SK Telecom T1 (formerly SKT, now T1) in the LCK Spring 2015 season.
With a consistent five-man lineup, the Korean org has overcome all challengers along their way, including beating Gen.G twice, who had to field emergency substitutes in both series due to players testing positive for COVID-19.

In game three of the KDF series, mid laner Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok locked in Kai’Sa, a champion normally drafted in the bot lane. The team snowballed after picking off Kwangdong Freecs’ jungler Choi “Ellim” El-lim, and took the series in dominant fashion.
Faker had been practicing Kai’Sa mid the past week. After the team teased her in games one and two, they finally locked her in in game three, drafting her into LeBlanc.
At level two, Faker was ganked by KDF jungler Choi “Ellim” El-lim on Xin Zhao, but managed to escape after flashing out.
In the bot lane a minute later, Ryu “Hoit” Ho-seong’s Leona engaged on Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok on Nautilus, but died after Keria pulled off a spectacular hook to disable Hoit. They also managed to kill Ellim, who’d pathed down after Hoit’s death, and Gumayusi received the red buff as a result.
After that, Keria and Oner pathed mid to match Ellim and Hoit, starting a 3v3 fight which resulted in Faker getting a kill.
This gave him the item advantage and allowed him to buy Caulfield’s Warhammer along with Tear of the Goddess, subsequently letting him evolve Icathian Rain (Q) when he purchased Muramana at 10 minutes. This meant that he could clear waves better than Yoo “FATE” Su-hyeok’s LeBlanc and roam, supporting Oner while he took objectives.
From then on, the undefeated team never let up on their map-wide pressure. Gumayusi was particularly fed thanks to picking up repeated kills, while Faker managed to scale up.
The game would end at 30 minutes with a score of 21-12 in favor of T1, having secured a Dragon soul and Baron.
