T1 LoL was awarded Esports Team of the Year during the Esports Hall of Fame 2023 Induction Ceremony, hosted by the Korea e-Sports Association (KeSPA) and sponsored by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Additionally, several players from the esports organization received individual awards at the event.
The event, which occurred on December 19 at the S-Plex Center Building in Seoul, South Korea, honors players who made notable contributions to domestic and international esports competitions in 2023.
T1 LoL celebrates victory at Esports Hall of Fame 2023, multiple awards earned
T1 won the following awards at KeSPA’s Esports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony:
- Esports Team of the Year
- 2023 Stars – Choi “Zeus” Woo-je
- 2023 Stars – Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok
- 2023 Stars – Ryu “Keria” Min-seok
Beyond League of Legends, the ceremony extended its recognition to outstanding players from diverse esports titles.
Notable mentions include three-time Tekken EVO champion Bae “Knee” Jae-Min, FC Online player Kwak “KWAK” Jun-hyouk, and Street Fighter pro Kim “M.Lizard” Gwan-woo.
The awardees for the Esports Hall of Fame’s Stars category were determined through a fan vote, with an impressive turnout of about 20,000 fans — approximately four times more than the previous year.
Nominees were selected based on their performances in both domestic and international competitions throughout the year.
Considering the remarkable achievements of T1 LoL players in 2023, the nominations for Zeus, Faker, and Keria came as no surprise.
The trio represented Korea at the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China, where they secured the gold medal for their country.
The three also helped T1 LoL triumph at Worlds 2023. The team achieved a decisive 3-0 victory against Weibo Gaming at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
T1 and its League of Legends player roster concluded the year with a remarkable array of accolades.
At the Esports Awards 2023, T1 secured the title of Esports Team of the Year, while Faker earned recognition as Esports PC Player of the Year.
Adding to the list of achievements, Faker clinched the title of Best Esports Athlete at The Game Awards 2023.
The success continued at the LCK Awards 2023, organized by League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK).
T1 claimed the All LCK 1st Team in Spring, and their player roster swept individual awards, securing distinctions in all position-specific categories.
Faker was honored as the Player of the Year, with Keria earning a remarkable array of awards, and standing out as the most decorated player.
The host of Esports Hall of Fame 2023, KeSPA, is an organization based in South Korea that oversees and regulates esports activities in the country.
KeSPA plays a crucial role in the development and promotion of esports in South Korea, which is one of the leading countries in the esports industry. The association is involved in organizing tournaments, setting standards, and ensuring fair competition in various esports titles.
