League of Legends Champions Korea’s (LCK) Team Griffin has announced the resignation of its head coach, Kim “cvMax” Dae-ho.
The announcement explained that cvMax’s contract “has ended with mutual agreement.” Team Griffin’s official statement did not detail the reason for the coach’s sudden departure, but a clip from popular Korean LoL streamer 이상호(BJ) shed more light on the situation.

The clip reveaeled that cvMax was dismissed from the organization, according to a translation by Reddit user ahm3538. After Team Griffin only placed second in this year’s Spring playoffs and Summer playoffs, cvMax got into a fight with an unnamed organization representative over the “poor performance,” resulting in his getting fired.
Despite his unfortunate situation, cvMax assured fans that the team will do just well in Worlds even without his guidance.
The 2019 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds) Play-In stage will start on October 2 and can be viewed on Riot Games’ Twitch channel.
