Riot Games’ 2020 Mid-Season Streamathon (MSS) has wrapped up after 48 hours of non-stop pro League of Legends content featuring teams from all 12 pro leagues.
The fundraiser was able to accumulate about US$630,000 from kind donations from Summoners all around the globe from May 30 to June 1.
Riot Games founders Brandon “Ryze” Beck and Marc “Tryndamere” Merrill kicked off the action by playing a showmatch of All Random Ultra Rapid Fire (ARURF) with popular LoL personalities like Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang and Chrissy Constanza.
Summoners also witnessed the rise of the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) as TOP Esports (TOP) ruled over 2019 Worlds champions FunPlus Phoenix (FPX) in the grand finals of the 2020 Mid-Season Cup (MSC).
The Europeans also kept everyone in a cheerful mood not just because of the EU Faceoff but because of the funny antics of hosts and casters like Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere, Indiana “Froskurinn” Black, Trevor “Quickshot” Henry, and Daniel “Drakos” Drakos.
From casting a game as pirates, dancing to League of Legends champions moves, making champion fan arts, and even jumping on the ASMR trend, they did everything they can to encourage the viewers to support the charity stream.
Ultimately, the EU Faceoff crowned France as the best team in the MSS. French player Jean “Jezu” Massol, in particular, showed everyone his amazing Aphelios when faced off against European squad LEC Kings.
The French Zoo came through and defeated them in the finals, becoming the first EU Faceoff champions.

Additionally, the LCS showcased some professional in-house matches from our favorite North America-based players. Here’s 100 Thieves William “Meteos” Hartman’s Teemo taking advantage of his passive ability Guerrilla Warfare and successfully stealing the red buff from the blue team.
The last of the show matches showed an off-role fight between Cloud9 and Team SoloMid. Despite not taking in their usual lanes and roles, Cloud9 ended the match in just 30 minutes with a 12k gold lead and a 29/23/41 KDA.
MSS ended on a wonderful note with musical performances from musicians Dan “Gryffin” Griffith and Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker.
Additionally, fans saw awesome matches from Legacy Esports and OPL All-Stars, an all-star variety show from the LCL, veteran players Kami and Yoda in the CBLOL, a Mid-Season Showmatch between PCS and VCS teams Talon Esports and Team Flash, and an exhibition tournament from the LJL. Casters, coaches, and staff even joined in a match for both TCL and LLA leagues.
