In the first round of the LCS playoffs, Evil Geniuses managed to outsmart FlyQuest in game one of the series as FlyQuest were attempting to take Baron.
Just after the 20-minute mark, FlyQuest were already halfway done with Baron when EG showed up to crash their opportunity. With nowhere else to go, FlyQuest ran straight into the river, losing two of their members to Bae “Bang” Jun-Sik.
With the 3v4 advantage, EG’s Colin “Kumo” Zhao continued the fight with a Showstopper on Omran “V1per” Shura, landing right on top of Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage.
Though PowerOfEvil blocked half of EG’s members with an Azir ult, Bang flashed into the two FLY members and unleashed his Fate’s Call. With Tristan “Zeyzal” Stidam providing a lot of crowd control with Fate’s Call and his beam stun, the rest of EG easily eliminated remaining FlyQuest members, leaving only Jason “WildTurtle” Tran to escape to safety.
Evil Geniuses went on win game one, and were able to close out the rest of the series 3-1. They will now be facing Cloud9 in round two of the playoffs.
