Evil Geniuses pick up free agent Seo “Huni” Seung-hoon for the 2020 LCS Summer Split. The talented toplaner finished the Spring Split with Dignitas, but he made a quiet exit from the team during the mid-season break due to internal conflicts.
Though Huni is a perfect piece to EG’s LCS roster, his status as an import player is expected to shake up the team’s two lineups.
Huni will likely take the toplaner spot on EG’s main roster, sending current LCS toplaner Colin “Kumo” Zhao to EG Academy. Kumo will fill a much-needed roster spot as EG Academy currently lacks a toplaner of its own.
Unfortunately, the issues surrounding the acquisition of Huni don’t stop there.
The LCS has a rule in which only two non-resident players can play at a time in each lineup. This means that EG may have to switch Bae “Bang” Jun-sik with resident Academy player Matthew “Deftly” Chen to allow Huni in the toplane.
EG’s second LCS import player, Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro, may also seek a transfer to another team. But considering the crucial role he played in EG’s Spring Split success, it’s unlikely to happen.

Regardless of the set-up, Huni is excited to be part of a higher-tier team in the NA region. With better players and familiar faces like Jiizuke and Bang around, Huni may find his groove early in the Split.
“Hopefully, you guys are cheering for me,” stated Huni. “I will smash everything for you guys.”
The 2020 LCS Summer Split will begin on June 13, with Evil Geniuses going up against 100 Thieves for the day’s first game.
