Videogames are for everyone and Japan is taking it to heart with an upcoming esports event for the disabled.
Organized by One Game and Japan-based pro-gaming group Unsold Stuff Gaming, the “1st eSports Event for Disabled in 2019 GUNMA” will take place in Takasaki City in the Gunma Prefecture on August 31 and will feature a League of Legends tournament, with a cool 1 million yen (US$10,000) cash prize.
Beyond being a LoL tournament, the event is also aimed to be a videogames and disability awareness event for attendees. There will also be a Puyo Puyo Experience Corner and disability consultation services.
While there’s not a lot of information yet about this first-of-its-kind event, we do know that there will be a Japan eSports Union certified player attending the Puyo Puyo Experience.
